This is the blog of Nick, Beth, Will, Maeby, and the forthcoming Baby Dekker. Located in Columbus, Ohio, we're new-ish parents who arts it up with our friends in Wild Goose Creative, enjoy the all the food and fun Columbus has to offer, church it up at the Central Vineyard, and most importantly, enjoy raising our first child, Will, while looking forward to the birth of our second.

Piano prodigy?
Over the holiday Will was opened to many new experiences, including - as we see here - playing the piano with Grandma Dekker. Enjoy our budding prodigy's composition. It's a modern piece.
I noticed the West Side Story sheet music on the piano. It I am not mistaken that last number will played was a minimalist jazz version of "OFFICER KRUPKE" very impressive.
A modern piece indeed. I couldn't quite make out the time signature of that one - was it the oft-neglected 5-7? Or maybe 4-9? He'll have to tell us when he can start putting sheet music together.
Excellent! I especially enjoyed Will's use of dissonant chords and the way he looked up at you after each masterful 'pounce' as if to ask, "It's good, right?!"

I LOVE it! Keep up the good work, guys, I expect him to start lessons no later than the age of 2 and a half (that's when I started!)
Yeah! I started at 5, so maybe we'll wait a few years!
