Cookies!

We headed to the North Market last Saturday to decorate Christmas cookies. They had stuff all organized, so we choose a tree cookie and green frosting.

Will set right to it, and seemed to know exactly what to do, though he never tried to eat it.

Once he did get a little taste of the frosting, it was all over. He forgot about his original task and set out to eat every bit of green goodness from the little cup.

A tiny bite of cookie.

But back to the frosting! Two hands to it now!

I think he had a good time, although we were cleaning green from many crevices afterwards. :)

Little Drummer Boy

These are all taken by our crazy-talented friend Robin and are just the tip of the iceberg of shots that night! Ha!

Busy boy!

Will is a busy, busy boy these days. We caught this bit of video last night as he was arranging and re-arranging the shoes from the closet. It went on for eight minutes, so I sped it up. Keep in mind that this comes after he already stacked all the shoes on the coffee table.

Our Halloween Ninja!

Will experienced his second Halloween this week, sporting a costume that Beth found last year: a ninja!

Thursday night was our neighborhood's trick-or-treat night, so we dressed him up and headed just up and down our block. We tried taking pictures beforehand, but... well, this little ninja did not want to hold still. So if most of the pictures look blurry, it's because he's too fast to see.

He spent much of the time running up and down the sidewalk.

Miraculously, the cap stayed on all night. Overall, Will seemed to get the whole trick-or-treat thing. It wasn't too long before he was picking a piece of candy and chucking it in his bag, even making a noise that sounded like "thank you." He got a lot of compliments about what a cute little ninja he was. Maybe cuteness is one of the ninja's secret tricks...

And since when do ninja's need cars?

The Circleville Pumpkin Show!

It's that time of year again, folks! Time for that truly blessed season of heartwarming goodness. That's right: it's the Circleville Pumpkin Show! The Pumpkin Show is a four-day festival in Circleville, Ohio that's been running for over 100 years. The entire town shuts down to celebrate all things pumpkin with plenty of food, fair games, parades, contests, and much more. It's an awesome celebration of small town America.

After debating whether we were crazy to head out in the rain, Beth, Abbey, Will, and I decided to do it anyway. Fortunately, the rain lessened to just a light mist, then quit altogether, so we were able to have a good old time. Plus, the rain kept the larger crowds away, so we were able to stroll casually without getting crushed by the masses of people. We even waltzed right into Lindsey's Bakery for our fresh pumpkin donuts without having to wait in line!

Some of the winning pumpkins. The largest was over 1600 pounds!

Our little man at his second Pumpkin Show.

Will used his charming good looks to get not one, but TWO free pumpkins from the sellers.

It's fun to look back at pictures from past Pumpkin Shows. It's funny how nothing really changes about it. The stalls and games are always in the same place. You can eat the same food, ride the same rides, play the same games, see the same parades. But there's something fun about going back to it year after year and knowing it doesn't change. We've been attending regularly since 2003, and have blogged about it in 2008, 2007, and 2006. It's always the same pictures and same stories, but we still love it. It was especially fun to watch it through Will's eyes. Because the show wasn't that busy, we could set him down and let him run. It was fun to watch him try bites of food, chase after dogs, play with the tiny pumpkins, and stare at the drums in the parade.

We also caught one of the parades rolling through. Look, there's the major of Circleville!

And a pug dressed as a turkey?

There's Miss Pumpkin and Little Miss Pumpkin!

And a float that featured some Miss Pumpkins from years back. And the back supported cancer research in a strange way?

Can't wait to see the show next year!

Fall pictures!

Here's a selection of pictures we took of Will in the park. The weather was just too perfect to not take pictures of him! Enjoy!

Will and Captain

Our friends Jacqui and Ryan recently got a little dachsund named Captain. He's a fun little guy - so very cute - and Will has taken to him. Tonight we had them over for dinner, and we got some great video of Will holding Captain and petting him. Will kept reaching for Captain like he was a stuffed animal.

Will at 15 months!

This is a crazy bit of video showing Will doing some of his latest tricks. Here he's playing with Maeby a bit, making lots of noise, giving Daddy a hug, and practicing his "evil laugh." I taught him the mad scientist laugh after we watched some Dr. Horrible together. All preparation for his future attempts at world domination.

In other news, he had his 15-month checkup this week, and all is going according to plan ("Mwa ha ha!"). He's clocked in at 26 pounds (that's 70th percentile) and 33 3/4 inches tall (that's "off the charts," as the nurse said).

Katie and Evan's Wedding

We started the weekend off right with a bachelorette party at our hotel in Katie's honor. We showered her with fun stuff!

Katie was a beautiful bride!!!

The ceremony took place at Christ Church in Pittsburgh, PA in a little white chapel.

Evan had his two brothers, Alan and David as his best men, and Katie had me, Abbey and her long-time friend Emily as her maid/matrons of honor.

And, as you know, Will was the ringbearer and did an amazing job!

The reception took place at a BEAUTIFUL restaurant in Pittsburgh called Willow, and Evan and Katie had 4 different flavors of cheesecake for dessert.

The blessing tree, full of warm wishes and blessings for the happy couple!

Congrats, guys! And welcome to the family, Evan!
